I’ll just let the photos speak for themselves! A group of us celebrated Chinese New Year a little early yesterday with a big dinner at the Sichuan Restaurant in Acton. We shared a large Sichuan hotpot, chili chicken (la zi ji), vermicelli with pork, salted egg fried corn, mapo tofu, fried green beans with pork and preserved vegetables, and a garlicky spicy aubergine dish. Everything was so delicious and the little numbing Sichuan peppercorns distributed throughout the meal were quite entertaining.

Hi Flanboyant Eats! Thanks for dropping by. Mmm….a coconut soup sounds good. A spicy one…like a Thai soup…

I love luncheon meat, totally underrated; but then again chopped ham and pork sounds posher.

Les: I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re in London - they have other dishes with Spam!
